Ice Casting and Experimental Mould Making Masterclass (4 days) 20-23 March 2025
Ice Casting and Experimental Mould Making Masterclass (4 days) 20-23 March 2025
This four day course will give you a unique insight into my creative process and inspirations, alongside technical teaching and demonstrations including the opportunity to experiment with my lost ice casting technique.
We will explore the fundamental qualities of standard studio materials that can enable spontaneity in the model and mould making process. We will be focusing on ephemera and a sense of movement in materials aiming to translate this into cast glass objects.
During the course you will create 3 experimental moulds and cast them into glass using direct model and mould making techniques, including one lost ice piece.
The course is limited to 4 participants to ensure time for 1:1 teaching as well as small group discussions.
This course is aimed at students who have some previous experience of kiln formed glass, if you are unsure if this is for you, please get in touch.

We can also arrange for them to be sent on to you by courier for a fee depending on the weight. We will be in touch to arrange this with you after the course has finished.

We do not provide food or accommodation at the studio, students are asked to bring a packed lunch and arrange their own transport and any overnight stays.
We have free tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge freezer and a microwave for heating food. We will also have biscuits for tea time!
Please bear in mind the studio is in a semi rural location and there are no local shops within walking distance.
